The first Hackett shop was opened in Parson’s Green, London, in 1983 by the partners Jeremy Hackett and Ashley Lloyd-Jennings, selling high-quality traditional and second-hand British clothes and accessories. In 1985 they realised that there was a great demand for new products and decided to begin to manufacture them.
In 1987 two army officers contacted Hackett looking for a sponsor. This was the birth of the Hackett Polo Team, which publicised the team’s polo shirts made by Hackett and were finally sold in their shop, marking the essence and sporting line of the brand.
